163 Tickets Issued In July Enforcement Campaign: Aurora Police

AURORA, IL — Aurora police issued a total of 163 tickets during their traffic safety campaign in July.
During the enforcement, which lasted July 6-31, officers aimed to remind drivers to slow down to save lives, officials said in a news release. The Aurora Police Department teamed up with other state and local enforcement agencies to conduct the campaign.

- 133 speeding
- 2 seat belt
- 1 child car seat
- 13 suspended/revoked licenses
- 11 uninsured drivers
- 3 reckless driving
Police also made two drug-related arrests during the traffic safety campaign.
"We continue to urge residents and others traveling through our community to slow down and obey speed limits," Lieutenant McWilliams said in a statement. "The choices you make behind the wheel could help save lives."

The campaign was paid for using federal traffic safety funds the Illinois Department of Transportation granted.
