Aurora, Oswego Men Face Child Sex Charges: Police
The men allegedly victimized the same 15-year-old girls, and police believe there are more victims.

AURORA, IL — Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $5,000 if anyone can come forward with information that leads to the arrest of two men suspected of sex crimes against minors. Ellis Burns, 21, of the 1900 block of Lilac Lane in Aurora, has a warrant out for his arrest with bail set at $5 million. He’s charged with the following:
- 2 counts of soliciting a child for child pornography videos (a Class X felony)
- 5 counts of soliciting a child for pornography photos (a Class X felony)
- 1 count of criminal sexual assault
- 13 counts of possession of child pornography
- 1 count of intimidation
- 1 count of failure to register as a sex offender
- Violating his parole by not letting officials know about changes to his social media account
- 4 misdemeanor counts of sexually abusing a juvenile
- 2 counts of domestic battery
- 2 counts of distributing obscene material to a minor

Aurora police said an acquaintance of Burns, Dametrius D. Thornton, 23, of the 100 block of Fox Chase Drive in Oswego, is currently being held in the Kane County Jail in lieu of a $750,000 bail. He has been charged with the following:

- 3 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse
- 1 count of intimidatio
- 2 counts of soliciting a child
- 5 counts of distributing explicit material to a minor
- 1 count of electronic harassment
Thornton’s charges stem from alleged crimes against two, 15-year-old girls, who were also victimized by Burns, according to Aurora police. Officials believe there are more victims, and would like to hear from them by calling the investigations division at 630-256-5500. Additional charges against them haven’t been ruled out, officials said.
Thornton’s next court date is Jan. 31. He and Burns are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in the court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
