Aurora PD 4th Of July Enforcement Campaign Results Are In
Aurora police's "Click It or Ticket" campaign lasted for two weeks surrounding the Fourth of July holiday.
AURORA, IL — Aurora police's enforcement campaign for the Fourth of July yielded a total of 258 tickets, officials said Monday.
The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," "Drive High Get a DUI" and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns began June 21 and lasted into the early morning hours of July 8.
The following citations were issued:

- 17 for unrestrained passengers
- 99 for speeding
- 59 for disobeying traffic control devices and signs
- 16 for no valid license or permit
- 33 for driving with expired license plates
- 34 for operating uninsured vehicles
Police also made 17 impaired driving arrests.
The enforcement featured high-visibility enforcement and a variety of outreach activities, including the "It's Not a Game" media campaign. The effort was paid for by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
