Man Found Shot In Car: Aurora Police

The 22-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle near 5th Avenue and Bangs Street. He is now in critical condition.

AURORA, IL — Aurora Police are continuing to investigate the shooting of a 22-year-old man who was found inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds Wednesday afternoon, police said Thursday.

The man was found inside the vehicle near Fifth Avenue and Bangs Street just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday after police received 911 calls reporting that shots had been fired in the area. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he is reported in critical condition.

No one else was injured in the incident, police said. Detectives and crime scene investigators arrived at the scene of the shooting to collect evidence and to try to begin piecing together what may have led to the man being shot, police said.
