Dan Keller, a 2018 graduate of West Aurora High School, will return to his hometown to star in the title role of a restless prince searching for fulfillment. In leading roles are also Alina Dukala, of Lombard, and Rowan Currie, from Aurora, who take on the respective roles of leading player, guiding the audience and Pippin through a journey of choices and consequences, and Catherine, the widow who helps Pippin discover where true happiness lies.

The Curries and the Deckers, two families of local artists and educators, are bringing the production to life. The score is by Stephen Schwartz, of "Wicked" fame, and the original choreography is inspired by Bob Fosse, known for the films "All That Jazz," "Cabaret" and "Chicago."

"Pippin is a cautionary tale about chasing greatness at the expense of love, humility, and connection," Kirsten Currie Tait, co-founder, music director and producer, said in a statement. "I hope audiences will reflect on what happens when ego overshadows meaningful relationships and service. This story asks us all to consider what truly makes a life extraordinary."

"Pippin" showtimes are at 7 p.m. July 24-26 and 2 p.m. July 26-27.

Tickets for adults cost $30 for all productions except the $25 July 24 preview show. Student tickets cost $25 (or $20 for the preview).
