Aurora's 15th Annual 'Cop On Rooftop' Raised $11,012 For Special Olympics
Illinois police staked out 275 Dunkin Donuts Friday for the Special Olympics fundraiser.

AURORA, IL – Aurora’s Police Department hosted its annual "Cop on The Rooftop" campaign which put cops on Dunkin' Donut roofs throughout the city Friday, May 19, raising $11,012 in funds for Special Olympics.
The money was raised in the first few hours last Friday morning and the location that raised the most this year was the Dunkin' Donuts on Galena Boulevard, which raised $3,221.18.
The campaign was part of 2017 Police Week and was one of several activities, including the Officer of the Year Ceremony and a Memorial Ceremony for fallen officers.

In all, police staked out 275 Dunkin' Donuts in Illinois last Friday for the fundraiser.
This year marks the 15th Anniversary of the Dunkin' Donuts Cop on the Rooftop event with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois.

Nearly $3.2 million has been raised through the Cop on the Rooftop over the years. In 2016, 234 locations participated and raised more than $670,000.
