Butterfield Road Resurfacing Will Require Closures Into November: IDOT

Intermittent daytime and occasional overnight lane closures will be required during construction, officials said.

AURORA, IL — A portion of Butterfield Road in Aurora will be resurfaced beginning June 26, with construction expected to continue into November, officials said.

The project will impact Butterfield Road, also known as Route 56, from west of Church Road to east of Illinois Prairie Path.

As part of the $2.7 million project, the left turn lanes on Butterfield Road at Kirk Road/Farnsworth Avenue will be extended, and a new Americans with Disability Act-compliant sidewalk ramps will be built, according to Illinois Department of Transportation representatives.

Construction will require intermittent daytime and occasional overnight lane closures, officials said. Access to residences and businesses in the work zone will remain during construction.

Drivers should expect delays and budget extra time to drive through the area, officials said.
