Excessive Heat Warning: Where To Find Cooling Centers In Aurora

Here's where to stay cool if you find yourself without air conditioning amid the 90-degree weather forecast Wednesday and Thursday.

AURORA, IL — Heat index values of 115 degrees are expected on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service, prompting an excessive heat warning for the Chicago area.

The warning is in effect from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Chicago area will be under an excessive heat watch through the evening, when there may be some late afternoon lake cooling, Patch reported.

If you find yourself without air conditioning, here are some locations in Aurora where you might find relief. Kane County officials remind residents to call ahead to make sure a cooling center is open before heading there.
