‘Game-Changer’ Software Streamlines Aurora Pet Adoption Process
The new software helps with identifying pets available for adoption as well as stray intakes.
AURORA, IL — Pet adoptions and identifying stray animals just got easier at Aurora’s Animal Care and Control.
The organization unveiled Thursday a new software designed to streamline the pet adoption process and identify stray intakes within the hour.
Powered by PetPlace, “24PetConnect” features an “Adorable Pets” portal that updates hourly with animals available for adoption at the center. It also supplies a “Stray Pets at the Shelter” portal that also updates hourly.

“This software is a game-changer for our shelter,” Animal Care and Control Manager Kameron DeBoer said in a statement. “The new upload feature puts real time data in the hands of our community. Not only will residents be able to view the most up-to-date adoptable animal population, but families missing their beloved pets can check our stray page 24/7, helping us reunite pets with their loving homes."
Aurora Animal Care and Control, located at 600 S. River St., is open for pet adoptions from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
