Gas Price Update: See Cost Of A Gallon In Aurora Ahead Of Labor Day
With Labor Day coming up, gas demand and volatile oil prices could limit how much gas prices dip in the coming weeks, according to AAA.

AURORA, IL — Labor Day is approaching, which means plenty of Aurora residents are planning to hit the road for one last summer outing.
With road trips, the cost of gas is always something to consider.
At around $4.19 per gallon in Kane County, gas prices were above the state average, coming in at $4.07 Wednesday — up 9 cents from a month ago, AAA data show.

Nationally, the price per gallon of gas was going for an average of $3.82 Wednesday.
With Labor Day coming up Sept. 4, gas demand and volatile oil prices, coupled with an active hurricane season, could limit how much gas prices dip in the coming weeks, according to AAA.

"Although the national average did a U-turn this week, the road ahead could lead to higher prices," Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson, said in a statement. "Ongoing concerns regarding potential storm activity could hinder falling pump prices this fall."
According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Aurora is selling for $3.97 per gallon at Shell, 407 S. Lake St. Here is what other stations around town are charging:
- Midwest, 611 Ashland Ave.: $3.99 per gallon
- Mobil, 300 W. Galena Blvd.: $4.05 per gallon
- BP, 1050 E. New York St.: $4.09 per gallon
- Mobil, 2241 S. Eola Road: $4.17 per gallon
- Citgo, 1116 E. New York St.: $4.19 per gallon
