'Little Women' Will Be Staged At West Aurora High School This Fall

Louis May Alcott's classic novel, following the four March sisters, will be performed as the school's fall play.

AURORA, IL — "Little Women" will take center stage at West Aurora High School this November.

Louis May Alcott's classic novel will be performed as the school's fall play from Nov. 20-22. Three seatings are planned, each starting at 7 p.m.

Set during the Civil War, "Little Women" is a coming-of-age story that follows the four young March sisters — Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy — as they navigate hardships, illness and sibling rivalry under the guidance of their beloved mother while their father is away at war.

At West Aurora, Skylar Campbell will play Amy, Cara McLear, Jo; TeYonna Bailey, Meg; and Hazel Chan, Beth. Rounding out the cast will be Mae Marcotte as Marmee, JJ Chan as Laurie, Daniel Mester as Brooke, Jillian Hatfield as Hannah, Iris Pawlowski as Aunt March, Jack Weber as Mr. Lawrence, and Charles Nash as Mr. March.

The novel, originally published as two volumes in 1868 and 1869, has been adapted countless times, most recently by director Greta Gerwig in the 2019 film.

Tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for students if purchased in advance. At the door, they'll be $2 more.
