Men Show Up Big for Mental Health

Local Collaboration Expands Bi-Monthly Series After Powerful May Launch

After an overwhelming response to May’s debut event, Whiskey, Wings & Real Talk returns on Tuesday, July 8 at The Lewis in St. Charles. Designed to offer men a laid-back, stigma-free space to talk about real life, this bi-monthly men’s mental health series is growing into a powerful community movement.

The event is hosted through a unique collaboration between:

  • Dennise Demitro, LCSW – Namasa Therapy, Geneva, IL
  • Lindsey Liddicoatt, LCPC – H&E Brighter Days, Geneva, IL
  • Dan Thomas – Owner of The Lewis, St. Charles, IL
  • Elizabeth Rago – Founder of The Modern Domestic Woman (MDW), St. Charles, IL

This July, the conversation turns to Masculinity in 2025, with guest speaker Jeremy Tovmassian, LMFT of Evergreen Counseling in Wheaton, Illinois, leading a heartfelt discussion on how men can redefine strength, identity, and connection.

“Most men grow up internalizing outdated, hand-me-down ideas of masculinity—rarely stopping to question where they came from,” says Tovmassian. “Over time, this can leave us disconnected from our own emotions and isolated from genuine human connection. This space is about exploring how modern masculinity is evolving and why challenging the stigma around seeking support is key to our mental and emotional well-being.”

Jeremy’s clinical approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and the belief that even the hardest seasons in life—burnout, disillusionment, identity crisis—can be doorways to deeper self-understanding. As both a licensed therapist and former pastor, Jeremy brings warmth, humor, and real-life wisdom to the room.
