More Than 100 Dogs Expected To Participate In 6th Annual Pooch Parade

The "competitive convection of canines" will return for the sixth time to Aurora, with dogs competing for awards in six categories.

AURORA, IL — For the sixth time, dogs will prance through downtown Aurora on Oct. 6 for the annual Aurora Pooch Parade.

The "competitive convection of canines" will take place at 11 a.m. at the Phillips Park Sunken Garden, 1000 Ray Moses Drive.

Those interested in participating should prepare to register when the application opens at 9 a.m. Sept. 6. To participate, furry friends have to be socialized, standard-leashed and current on all vaccinations.

By parading, pups will be eligible for the following awards:

  • Biggest Dog
  • Smallest Dog
  • Best Costume
  • Most Energetic
  • Twinsies
  • Crowd Favorite
