Multilingual Learner Department Administrator Appointed At D129

She brings over 15 years of experience supporting multilingual learners and leading school communities​ to the West Aurora school district.

AURORA, IL — West Aurora School District 129 has brought aboard a new multilingual learner department administrator.

The Board of Education approved Paraskevi Stamatoukos for the role during its regular meeting Monday. The educator brings more than 15 years of experience supporting multilingual learners and leading school communities to the job, officials said.

Stamatoukos comes to District 129 from Meeker Consulting, where she provided professional development and coaching to early childhood centers. She previously worked as a regional coordinator at The Center: Early Childhood Professional Learning and as assistant principal, then principal at Pleasant Hill Elementary School in Winfield.

Prior to school leadership, Stamatoukos was an English learner instructional coach and coordinator serving kindergarten through 12th grade at Community Unit School District 200.

Her multilingual education career began in 2008 as an EL teacher at Wheaton North and Wheaton Warrenville South high schools. There, she built programs that prioritized access to rigorous coursework and co-curricular opportunities, according to a news release.

"I am honored to join the West Aurora team in service to our students, staff, and families," Stamatoukos said in a statement. "I look forward to partnering with the team as we focus on building equitable learning and growth opportunities for our students."

Stamatoukos has a bachelor's degree in literature and language with a secondary education endorsement from Benedictine University, a master's in educational leadership from Benedictine University, and a second language endorsement from National Louis University.
