Santa, Mrs. Claus Will Visit Aurora Festival Of Lights For Christmas

Santa and Mrs. Claus will wave to Festival of Lights visitors as they leave Phillips Park on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

AURORA, IL — Santa and Mrs. Claus will make a special appearance at the Aurora Festival of Lights on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, officials announced.

From the comfort of their cars, families and children will have the chance to wave to the Christmas legends from 5-7 p.m. on both nights as they exit the drive-thru light display at Phillips Park.

Since Santa will be busy preparing to deliver gifts to children across the world Tuesday night, he'll be portrayed by Aurora City Hall employee John Gerard, while coworker Dee Hakala will act as Mrs. Claus.

The Festival of Lights is open every night from 5-9 p.m. through Dec. 29.

As the season winds down, other surprise guests and giveaways will be featured on different nights, officials said.
