See What Gas Prices Aurora Pumps Are Dishing Thanksgiving Weekend

AURORA, IL — If you're among the millions of Americans traveling this Thanksgiving, you may want to prepare ahead of time for sticker prices at the gas station.

At around $3.41 per gallon in Kane County, gas prices were just below the state average, coming in at $3.46 Wednesday, according to AAA. The average cost for a gallon of gas is down 54 cents compared to Thanksgiving time last year.

Nationally, the price per gallon of gas was going for an average of $3.29 Wednesday. Since the price peak for 2023, the national average has either fallen or plateaued for more than 60 days straight, AAA reported.

"Drivers this Thanksgiving can expect cheaper gas prices," Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson, said in a statement. "Ten states now have sub $3 a gallon averages, and more will join soon. So savvy drivers will find savings on their way to a turkey dinner this year."

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Aurora is selling for $2.95 per gallon at Mobil, 300 W. Galena Blvd. Here is what other stations around town are charging:

• Shell, 407 S. Lake St.: $3.02 per gallon
• Shell, 320 W. Galena Blvd.: $3.05 per gallon
• Mobil, 1680 Montgomery Road: $3.22 per gallon
• Mobil, 2241 S. Eola Road: $3.29 per gallon
• Citgo, 287 S. Broadway: $3.38 per gallon
