See Where Gas Prices Stand In Aurora For Memorial Day Weekend
The average price for gas in Kane County was significantly above the Illinois average of $4.07.
AURORA, IL — With Memorial Day weekend comes the unofficial start of summer, which means first-of-the-season road trips for many families.
This year, AAA forecasts a record 38.4 million people will take to the road over the holiday weekend.
"Since the pandemic, the summer driving season has not seen a surge in demand, which can push pump prices higher," Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson, said in a statement. "So it will be interesting to see if this year bucks that trend. This week's move by the Biden Administration to sell off the million barrel Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve might help stave off any regional pump price surges, but likely won't move the national average that much."
