Officials also provided a handful of tips for driving and shoveling:
- Be extra cautious when driving. Even salted and plowed streets can have slick spots.
- Reduce speed and put distance between yourself and other drivers.
- Stay a minimum of 75 ft. behind snowplows and never attempt to pass them.
- Do not shovel snow into the street when clearing driveways.
- Help keep fire hydrants cleared of snow so they can be accessed quickly in an emergency.
- Do not leave running vehicles unattended, whether locked or unlocked.
