KANE COUNTY, IL — The Fox Valley United Way is asking for residents throughout the region to support its “Little Libraries” by donating on Giving Tuesday.

The nonprofit will accept donations for the “Little Libraries” through its website for Giving Tuesday, a 24-hour fundraising bonanza for nonprofits and charities scheduled for Dec. 1 this year.

The “Little Libraries” are part of the Fox Valley United Way’s SPARK program, which strives to help kids be “Strong, Prepared and Ready for Kindergarten” by offering resources to children and families, according to a news release. The SPARK program provided resources to nearly 2,400 children in 2019.

Each $20 donation would put five books into one of the five “little libraries” throughout the region, while a $100 donation would help provide half a dozen families with a math activity kit, which are “full of activities, books and games for families to play and read together while at home,” the release states.

“They are a fun and easy way for parents to SPARK a love of learning,” the release states.
