West Aurora High To Host 37th Annual Madrigal Dinner, Dessert Concerts

The West Aurora Choir will perform two madrigal concerts featuring meals cooked by culinary art students.

AURORA, IL — West Aurora High School will host its 37th annual dinner and dessert madrigal concerts on Dec. 14-15.

The West Aurora Choir will perform two shows, one featuring dinner at 6 p.m. Dec. 14 and a second featuring dessert at 3 p.m. Dec. 15. The concerts will be held in the school's student cafeteria, 1201 W. New York St.

Tickets to the madrigal dinner have sold out, but seats are still open for the Sunday matinee. Seating is available in groups of six to eight people, and handicapped seats are available upon request.

The event will kick off with a town crier welcoming guests. Food will then be served, and the Madrigal Singers, Lyric Chorus and Royal Brass will perform in period costumes.

Culinary art students from West Aurora High will prepare the menu for the events. Saturday's sold-out show features a three-course meal consisting of either spinach and roasted red pepper stuffed pork cutlet or spinach and ricotta stuffed shells with red sauce. On Sunday, the meal includes coffee, wassail and cheesecake.

Tickets for Sunday's show, which costs between $16 and $26, can be purchased online via Vanco Events.
