Batavia Woman Cited In 2023 Hit-And-Run That Killed Wheaton Woman
She was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident in the crash from over a year ago that killed a 31-year-old Wheaton woman.
BATAVIA, IL — A Batavia woman was recently cited in connection to a fatal hit-and-run crash more than a year ago in Wheaton.
Tarra Fiedler was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident in the crash that killed Paige Donahue, 31, on Jan. 2, 2023.
Donahue, of Wheaton, had sustained "severe traumatic injuries" when she was found on Roosevelt Road by another driver, Patch previously reported. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died of her injuries.

Fiedler was identified after investigators got "results from electronic search warrants and an advanced analysis of physical evidence left at the scene from the involved vehicle," Wheaton police said in a news release.

Police say Fiedler, who had driven a Hyundai Tucson at the time, was cooperative with investigators and shared additional information about the crash that killed Donahue.
The City of Wheaton shared the following in its news release Thursday:
"The Police Department is grateful to be able to provide some answers to Paige’s family. Her family has suffered over the past year and continues to grieve to this day. This incident has impacted many lives, including the good Samaritans who stopped to aid Paige, the responding Patrol Officers and Fire Department personnel who attempted life-saving measures, the investigating detectives who spent months diligently investigating all leads, and the thousands of community members who showed support for the tragic loss of this young woman. The Wheaton Police Department expresses our continued condolences to Paige’s family and friends, and we would like to thank Paige’s family and the community for their continued support throughout this investigation."
