Kane County prosecutors say the 37-year-old suspect remains jailed without pre-trial release on first-degree murder charges, as Batavia police and the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force continue investigating and seek tips from the community.

The Bulldogs struggled again from three-point range but players and coach Jim Nazos say the tournament is helping them regain confidence and show they can compete against bigger, highly ranked teams.

Resident suffers minor injury in Geneva house fire (chicagotribune.com) — Batavia firefighters were among several area departments that helped Geneva crews contain a garage fire late Saturday night near downtown Geneva, where one resident suffered a minor heat-related injury. The blaze, traced to a car in the garage, was controlled within 30 minutes, limiting damage mostly to the garage but leaving smoke damage throughout the home.
