BATAVIA, IL — Access to Hall Quarry Beach will be maintained while construction continues at the nearby intersection of Water and Union streets, officials said.

Construction is scheduled between 7-11 a.m. daily at the intersection, with limited work happening after 11 a.m. With Water Street closed from Main Street south to Union Avenue, visitors should take Union Avenue to Pamarco Drive to access the beach, which opens May 25.

To help with safety, the city also contracted Andy Frain Services to once again provide a crossing guard at Union Avenue and Route 31. The guard will be on duty 30 minutes before, during and after beach hours.
