Langum Woods Needs To Be Cleaned Up
The St. Charles Tree Commission need volunteers ages 12 and up to beautify the park.

The snow is melting and it is time to clean up the invasive species that would otherwise grow in Langum Woods on Riverside Drive. Volunteers are invited to the park from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. March 14
“Volunteers will help spruce up the park after the long winter by clearing pathways and removing honeysuckle and buckthorn, two non-native, invasive species that can crowd out Langum Woods’ native oaks and hickories,” The St. Charles Tree Commission said in a written release.
The Commission has partnered with the St. Charles Park District and the City of St. Charles.
“The Tree Commission is always looking for ways to reach out to the public with educational and awareness opportunities regarding our trees and parks,” Pam Otto of the St. Charles Park District and member of the Tree Commission said in a written release. “This event also is a great way to get outside and get involved in your community.”
