BATAVIA, IL — Warehouse 55, a popular vintage store in Aurora, is relocating to Batavia, the company announced Tuesday.

Known for its well-curated mix of modern, contemporary, and antique decor and furnishings, Warehouse 55 will bring nearly 50 dealers to 160 First St. in October.

"For years, we’ve needed all one floor," Mindy Schloss, manager of Warehouse 55, said in a statement. "The [new] building is gorgeous."

Schloss said the business grew from one floor to filling two at 55 S. Lake St. in downtown Aurora. The new digs span 8,000 square feet on one level.

Warehouse 55 opened in September 2019 with 30 vendors after owner Mark Allen Shouldeen came across the space in the historic Aurora building. The business expanded within five years to maintain about 50 vendors and a second, boutique location in Chicago's West Town neighborhood.

Warehouse 55 will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
