10-Year-Old Boy Shot by 8-Year-Old Brother on South Side

A 10-year-old boy shot by his little brother underwent surgery at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn Thursday.

An 8-year-old boy fired a gun and accidentally shot the 10 year old in the chest, WBBM Newsradio reports. The shooting took place at a home in the 9000 block of South Bishop Street.

The shooting took place at about 9 a.m., according to the Chicago Tribune. The child was initially taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital and then transferred.
