Alcohol was a factor in a Dan Ryan Expressway crash that injured seven people, including three children, and left an SUV severely mangled Sunday afternoon.
The crash unfolded at 2:25 p.m. near the 87th Street exit, according to State Police. The SUV had Indiana plates but some of the occupants had Chicago-area addresses. The victims were in serious-to-critical condition.
The three children were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital. Two adults were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and the other two were taken to Stroger Hospital.
