Cops Find Cocaine Under Blanket During Traffic Stop

An Alsip man faces drug charges after cops found cocaine under a blanket inside his van, according to a report.
Michael Bobis, 47, of the 11800 block of Hamlin, was charged with possessing a controlled substance, possessing marijuana, possessing drug paraphernalia, driving without a rear license plate light and having a cracked windshield, according to Evergreen Park police.
Bobis was stopped at about 3:03 a.m. on Nov. 2 near the intersection of 95th and Western when cops noticed the license plate light was out and the windshield was cracked, the report states.

Cops noticed a smell of marijuana coming from the van, the report states. Inside, they found a one-hitter box and cigarette buts with a green, leafy substance. They also uncovered a substance suspected to be cocaine under a blanket between the front states.
The substance in the cigarettes tested positive for 0.3 grams of marijuana, the report states. A field test of the 0.7 grams of the suspected cocaine also was positive.
