Golf Event Raises Money for Cpl. Conner T. Lowry Memorial Fund
The lifelong Beverly resident and Marine who lost his life in Afghanistan is honored and remembered through the Cpl. Conner T. Lowry Memorial Foundation.

The second annual Cpl. Conner T. Lowry Memorial Golf Outing was held on Aug. 24 at Deer Creek Golf Club. The event drew 152 golfers and raised money for a scholarship fund in Lowry's name at St. John Fisher School.
Lowry was a lifelong Beverly resident and graduate of St. John Fisher and Brother Rice High School. On March 1, 2012 Lowry was serving in Afghanistan when he was killed in combat.
Lowry's mother Modie Lavin has worked to honor her son's life through the scholarship fund and foundation. A memorial at Beverly Park was dedicated to Lowry this March on the first anniversary of his death. Lavin described the founding of the foundation and her work to honor her son in a recent interview with Patch.
