Lit Firecracker Thrown at Chicago Police Officers

The firecracker exploded on their vehicle Sunday afternoon.

Chicago, IL — Someone tossed a firecracker at the windshield of a Chicago Police squad car Sunday afternoon, injuring two officers. The incident happened around 4:20 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Exchange. After tossing the lit firecracker, the person in the car sped away as it exploded. The officers were treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and reported to be in good condition.
