'Good Trouble' Protests Set For Saturday At 103rd And Western, Orland Park
Southsiders For Peace and South Suburban Relentless are ready to make "good trouble" at local protests Saturday, July 19.

CHICAGO — Over 1,500 “Good Trouble” protests are scheduled across the country and throughout Illinois on Thursday, July 17, and Saturday, July 19, marking the fifth anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s death.
Lewis was a civil rights icon and United States congressman, serving Georgia’s 5th congressional district from 1986 until his death at age 80 in 2020. He coined the term “good trouble” as the action of coming together to take peaceful, non-violent action to challenge injustice and created meaningful change.
Lewis was one of the most vocal critics of President Trump during his first administration. Trump's 2017 inauguration was the first that Lewis missed during his three-decade tenure in Congress.
