Free Support Group Offers Caregiver Well-Being Tuesday At Smith Village

Caregivers of persons with dementia will learn self-care strategies for maintaining their own well-being Tuesday, June 17, at Smith Village.

CHICAGO — The importance of caregivers of family members or friends with dimension taking out some “me time” is the focus of the Smith Village Caregivers Support Group, which meets Tuesday, June 17. The free monthly support group starts at 6:30 p.m. at Smith Village, 2320 W. 113th Place, Chicago.

“Caregivers need ‘me time’ just as much as anyone else,” said Alice Keane, a Smith Village resident and experienced caregiver support facilitator. “Caring for yourself is not selfish—it’s essential.”

The support group will offer meaningful strategies that help caregivers prioritize their own well-being and feel supported in their role.
