Community members from around the South Side and suburbs are invited to participate in an emergency ‘no war’ rally Monday, June 23. The rally kicks off from 5 to 7 p.m. at 103rd Street and Western Avenue.

The rally is being organized by Southsiders for Peace to protest the United States joining the Israeli military in military strikes against Iran.

The United States military dropped 30,000-pound “bunker buster” bombs and fired scores of missiles targeting a number of Iran’s uranium enrichment sites early Sunday. The raid comes on the heels of the campaign Is real began more than a week ago.

Southsiders for Peace were joined by more than 600 protestors for the nationwide“No Kings” mobilization on June 14. If you plan to attend, the organization requests that signs not include profanity.
