CHICAGO — Two women from Southern California were busted at O’Hare International Airport with a combined nearly 50 pounds of cocaine, according to authorities.
Vanessa Perez, 27, of Los Angeles, was charged Tuesday with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and controlled substances trafficking, authorities said, adding 20-year-old Nancy Ramos of Huntington Park was charged with the same offenses Wednesday.
U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration personnel following an intelligence lead identified Ramos as she arrived Monday at the airport from Los Angeles, according to authorities. Ramos consented to a search of her checked luggage after a positive canine sniff, authorities said, and officers found about 29 pounds of suspected cocaine inside.
