Last Chance to Register! Dive in to the 8th Annual Crystal Lake Aquathon

Time is running out to register for the 8th Annual Crystal Lake Aquathon, happening Sunday, July 20 at Three Oaks Recreation Area. Hosted by Smith Physical Therapy+, this one-of-a-kind event is the only Aquathon in Illinois and spots are filling fast! The Aquathon offers a range of exciting, scenic, and challenging race options for athletes of all experience levels:

2025 RACE OPTIONS:

• Sprint Distance: 500m swim + 5K run
• Olympic Distance: 1-mile swim + 10K run
• Swim Only (2-mile)
• Swim Only (1-mile) (timed but not eligible for awards)
• Kids Aquathon 250m + 1 mile run
• Adaptive 1 Mile Swim Option for participants needing extra support

Set at the stunning Three Oaks Recreation Area, swimmers will navigate a scenic quarry loop around three islands before hitting a run course made up of trails, sand, and pavement. All proceeds from the event benefit Girls on the Run of Northwest Illinois, a nonprofit empowering young girls through mentorship, physical activity, and confidence-building programs.
