Darien Aims To Clear Streets Of Leaves

Like other towns, Darien is dealing with leaves mixed in with early snowfall.

DARIEN, IL – Darien is working to schedule street sweeping to clear any leaves along curbs, a city official said Wednesday.

Like many towns, Darien was collecting leaves when an unusual winter storm occurred in November.

In response to a Patch inquiry, Dan Gombac, the city's top public works official, said Darien is looking for opportunities to get a service to pick up bagged leaves or have residents drop them off.

Gombac noted the snowfall came when some trees had not shed their leaves.
