Bike & Walk Des Plaines Celebrates Bicycle Repair Stand Install

The sustainable transport advocacy group Bike & Walk Des Plaines was happy to see the installation of a great new resource for cyclists in Des Plaines.

Installed at the downtown Metra station is a bicycle repair stand. This includes an air pump and selection of tools to help keep commuters and other bikers on the move.

The repair stand is a joint project between Bike & Walk Des Plaines, The City of Des Plaines, and Rivers Casino.

As folks pull out their bikes to enjoy the spring weather the bike stand will help ensure a smooth ride for everyone.

Bike & Walk Des Plaines also recently launched its Des Plaines biking “Mellow Map” in time for spring rides.

This aid is designed to be used with Google maps on a phone. It highlights the safest routes for cyclists to take across the city of Des Plaines.
