2 Cars Stolen In Downers Grove In 2 Days
As of Aug. 20, three cars had been reported stolen throughout the village.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Two cars were stolen in Downers Grove in a span of just two days in mid-August, according to police. The recent car thefts come after a car was stolen from a dealership in the village in early August.
On Aug. 16, police were called to the 400 block of 74th Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. Police say the 2021 Lexus GX460 was parked in front of the owner's home around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 15. The owner noticed the car was missing the following morning.
The total loss is valued at $42,000.

Another car theft was reported on Aug. 17. Police were called to Billy Kay Corvette at 2100 Ogden Ave. after a manager noticed a 2023 Chevrolet Camaro had been stolen.
The manager told police surveillance cameras show a gray SUV heading east on Ogden around 3:40 a.m. before stopping at the dealership. At that time, cameras showed another person getting out of the SUV and running behind the Camaro.

Police say both the Camaro and the SUV were driven westbound down Ogden Avenue at a "high rate of speed" after the incident.
A Camaro had been stolen from a nearby dealership on Ogden Avenue on Aug. 3.
