Price of Garbage Stickers Increases in Downers Grove

Trash will now cost slightly more for Downers Grove residents.

Beginning Monday, the price of garbage stickers increased from $3.37 to $3.52. The price of carts also went up:

• $14.95 to $15.70 for a 35-gallon cart;
• $17.51 to $18.20 for a 65-gallon cart;
• $23 to $23.95 for a 95-gallon cart.

The increases are part of the village's contract with its waste management company, Republic Services.

There will be no change in the appearance or color of the stickers. Stickers purchased before April 1 will be accepted on garbage/yard waste. 

The contract with Republic Services also includes an amnesty day for unlimited trash pickup, which is scheduled for the week of Sept. 30 on regular pickup days.
