St. Baldrick's Day Marriage Proposal
New Lenox's Pat Biangamano surprised Jessica Caputo, of Downers Grove, twice on March 22.
New Lenox's St. Baldrick's Day fundraiser for cancer research was a life-giving event. But for one couple it was also about a new life together.
Pat Biangamano, 24, of New Lenox, got his head shaved to help raise fund for cancer research. And then with an inhibitions shaved away, he knelt down on one knee and asked 23-year-old Jessica Caputo, of Downers Grove, to marry him.
In a crowed of at least 500 people at the New Lenox American Legion, 14414 Ford Drive, she said, "Yes." the couple has been dating since 2008.

Why a wedding proposal on St. Baldrick's Day?
It was all about the date—the 22nd, said Biangamano. The couple:
- Met on June 22, 2008;
- Had their first date on July 22, 2008;
- Jessica's birthday is Sept. 22, 1989.
"I knew she'd be surprised that I'd get my head shaved," he said.

Caputo agreed. She was not expecting a marriage proposal. "I'm absolutely shocked. I didn't see it coming at all. I'm so happy."
