1 Killed, 2 Injured When Freight Train Collides With Landscaping Truck
The collision happened Thursday morning in Elgin.
ELGIN, IL — One person is dead and two others were injured when a freight train engine collided with a landscaping track in Elgin.
The collision happened at the State Street crossing at a bout 6:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the Daily Herald. The person who was killed was in the truck at the time of the crash as were the two who were injured.
The three people were employees of Cornerstone Partners.

City officials in Elgin closed down State Street from Chicago Street to National Street as authorities investigated the crash.
