Drugs, Stolen Weapons, Cash Seized From South Elgin Home: Police

Man police suspected was supplying the cocaine had his bond set at $200,000 by a Kane County judge, according to report.

COOK COUNTY, IL — Authorities announced Tuesday two men have been charged with dealing cocaine after police recovered weapons — some stolen — and drugs from a South Elgin home Thursday as a result of a covert operation by the North Central Narcotics Task Force, according to the Daily Herald. The news source added that according to a release from the North Central Narcotics Task Force, 22-year-old Cristian Flores, of West Dundee was charged in Cook County with four counts of dealing cocaine, and his bond was set at $8,750 by a Cook County judge. Mario Prado, 26, of the 500 block of Jenna Drive, South Elgin, was charged in Kane County with two counts of dealing cocaine, two weapons offenses, child endangerment and drug possession, and his bond was set at $200,000 by a Kane County judge, the task force's news release reported, according to the Daily Herald.

The news release from the task force said the investigation started last month after agents identified Flores as a suspected cocaine dealer, who sold the drug to an undercover agent four separate times. The Daily Herald said after the meetings in the Hoffman Estates area, agents would follow Flores to meetings with Prado, who they presumed was supplying the drug, according to the news release.

Keeping watch on Prado's home turned into a search warrant being executed at the residence Thursday morning, where task force agents and the Illinois State Police seized the following, according to the news release.
