Elgin Man Sentenced To Prison In Sexual Assault Of Girl 'He Knew'
According to court records, Cesar M. Calderon, 37, must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

ELGIN, IL — A former Elgin man has been sentenced to prison on charges stemming from a 2014 sexual assault. According to The Daily Herald, 37-year-old Cesar M. Calderon, who previously lived in the 500 block of Center Street, was sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in prison after pleading guilty Friday, April 5 to one count of predatory criminal sexual assault on accusations he sexually assaulted a girl he knew between Jan. 1, 2014 and Dec. 31, 2014, according to Kane County court records. A jury trial was scheduled for Calderon this week in Kane County before the guilty plea was entered, according to the news report.
Calderon was charged in October 2016 with two counts each of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under 13 and aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child under 13. During that time, he was already serving a now-completed 4 1/2-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a felon stemming from a December 2014 arrest in Elgin, The Daily Herald said.
Court records show Kane County Judge D.J. Tegeler accepted Calderon's guilty plea Friday on the predatory criminal sexual assault charge, and prosecutors dismissed the remaining charges, according to The Daily Herald. In addition to his prison sentence, Calderon must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, pay $1,130 in fines and fees, and through June 2031 is ordered to have no contact with a 17-year-old man and four minors, including the victim, ranging in age from 11 to less than 1-year-old, according to court records.
