Katherine has excelled in her undergraduate program, receiving numerous awards for her work with children and families.
Her personal struggles and the steps she took to grow from them have fueled her desire to be a light in the lives of others. She is especially skilled with expressing care and compassion for children grieving the loss of a parent and understanding addiction is a disease that impacts the entire family system.
She has embraced her individuality, developed a sound moral code, has worked throughout college to be financially responsible, and exemplifies how to use her adverse childhood experiences to her advantage.
She is unabashedly in the arena fighting for those who can't fight for themselves.
She is following in the footsteps of family members who have made education, mental health and recovery the foundation for life.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about your graduating student nominee?
When she sets her mind on a project, process, procedure, or principle, she presents her very best.
