Manufacturing employers across the region will gather at Elgin Community College (ECC) on Friday, May 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. for a unique event designed to tackle some of the industry’s toughest challenges: attracting, engaging, and retaining skilled workers in a rapidly evolving labor market.

The new Manufacturing Employer Symposium, held at ECC, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, Ill., invites industry leaders to rethink their approach to workforce development through a hands-on, interactive workshop. The event will be moderated by Drew Crowe, founder of the New American Manufacturing Renaissance, whose compelling personal story and forward-thinking strategies are reshaping how employers connect with the next generation of manufacturing professionals.

Crowe brings a unique voice to the conversation. From teenage father and two-time felon to college graduate, he realized the potential of a career path in the manufacturing industry. He now champions the need for purpose-driven engagement in manufacturing careers. His message is clear: offer young workers a mission β€” not just a job β€” and they’ll show up with passion, creativity, and loyalty.
