Proposed Route 20 Project In Kane County To Be Discussed At Hearing

Locals can learn about the project development process and share opinions at an upcoming public hearing.

ELGIN, IL — A public hearing is planned to discuss the Illinois Department of Transportation's proposed Route 20 ramp project in Kane County.

Locals can attend the event scheduled to take place from 4-7 p.m. April 25 at The Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way.

The project aims to improve ramps at the Route 20 intersections with Illinois and Lavoie avenues. Plans include closing the existing ramps and modifying both roads to accommodate the closures, officials said.

At the public hearing, attendees will learn about the development process, hear from officials about preferred alternatives and have the opportunity to share opinions. Exhibits will also be on display, and an audio-visual presentation will play continuously during the meeting.

Participants can comment at the meeting, email feedback, or mail input to the Illinois Department of Transportation Bureau of Programming, attention Lori Brown, at 201 W. Center Court in Schaumburg. Comments received by May 16 will become part of the official public hearing record, officials said.
