According to report, police said three staff members at South Elgin HS were sent to hospital after altercation between two students.

ELGIN, IN — The South Elgin Police Department said a South Elgin High School student has been charged with battery stemming from an altercation Wednesday morning at the school, 760 E. Main Street in South Elgin, when the female student is reported to have thrown bleach on another student, according to the Daily Herald. South Elgin Police Sgt. Mike Doty said at about 6:50 a.m. two female students got into an altercation regarding a social media post, when a 14-year-old girl opened a water bottle filled with bleach she brought, and threw the bottle's contents onto a 15-year-old girl, the Daily Herald reported. In addition, Sgt. Doty said three school staff members tried stopping the altercation, which led to two getting bleach on their faces and one suffering an upper body injury, according to the news report.
According to the Daily Herald, Sgt. Doty said the 14-year-old was charged with one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of aggravated battery.
No injuries were reported for the 15-year-old, but all three staff members were taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Eglin and have since been treated and released. However, the police sergeant had a reminder for parents and guardians, saying, "South Elgin police would like to remind all parents and guardians to speak with and be involved with their children about issues happening on social media," Doty said, according to the Daily Herald. "Educate them on the dangers of taking matters into their own hands and the repercussions that could happen when they act out of something that occurred on social media."
