2 Elmhurst Neighborhood Disputes Reported
In one case, a person was charged after an argument over loud music, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving neighbor disputes, a restaurant argument, retail theft, an unlicensed solicitor and a recovered bike. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Neighbor disputes
- A dispute over loud music resulted in damaged property about 1 a.m. Saturday at the Vyne on Haven apartment complex, 100 N. Haven Road. A 29-year-old man who lives in the complex was cited on a charge of criminal property damage.
- Officers responded to a neighbor dispute about 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of South Linden Avenue. Both neighbors were asked to stop contacting each other.

- Mangia Napoli pizzeria, 940 N. York St., wanted a person given a no-trespass notice after an argument occurred about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Officers tried to serve the person with the notice, but were unsuccessful. They said they would try again.
Retail theft, property damage
- A 49-year-old Lincolnwood woman was arrested Thursday on charges of retail theft and criminal property damage. Police said she was seen on camera placing items in a shopping cart and stealing them from 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. May 1 at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St. Police also said she damaged property the same day. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. She has repeatedly gotten in trouble with local police in recent weeks.
Unlicensed solicitor

- A 30-year-old Glendale Heights man was cited about 9 p.m. Monday on a charge of not having a transient merchant license. Police said the man was soliciting at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St.
Retail theft
- A 34-year-old Chicago man was arrested Wednesday on a retail theft charge. The incident occurred about 2 a.m. at Thorntons gas station, 476 N. York St. The man was later found in West Chicago. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 50-year-old Addison woman was arrested about 2 p.m. Wednesday on charges of retail theft, unlawful possession of a theft detection device and failure to signal when required. Police said the woman placed several items in her purse at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. The woman was released.
- Two people stole merchandise about 4 p.m. May 8 at Bath and Body Works, 171 Route 83. It was reported Monday. An investigation is pending.
Bike recovered
- An abandoned purple and black Huffy Rock Creek bicycle was recovered about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday near Berkley Avenue and Utley Road. The owner could not be found. The bike was placed into evidence for safekeeping.
Theft
- Items were stolen from a storage unit between May 8 and May 14 at Extra Space Storage, 160 W. Industrial Drive.
