Check Mates: Kids From All Over Elmhurst Participate in Annual District 205 Chess Tourney Last Month
Students in chess clubs from various Elmhurst schools were matched up by age to compete for top spots.
The 17th annual Elmhurst District 205 Chess Tournament took place on Wednesday, March 20, in the Commons at York High School. Sponsored by individual school chess clubs and run by teacher and parent volunteers, the districtwide program culminates at the annual tournament.
The district offers a special thanks to It’s Good To Be King in downtown Elmhurst for repeatedly providing the tournament with many great raffle prizes.
