Child's iPhone Stolen From Backpack at School Playground

Someone answered a call on the phone, but didn't speak, police reported.

Elmhurst, IL - A fourth grader who set down his backpack around 3:40 p.m. March 10 while he was on the Edison Elementary School playground returned to find his cell phone had been stolen from the bag.

The child's mother said she called the phone, and someone answered but didn't speak, according to Elmhurst police.

The mother also sent text messages to the phone, telling the person to return it, but she hasn't received a reply. The phone is a black Apple iPhone 6, police reported.
